Pakistan Team gear up for Darwin challenge

Lahore, 13 August 2025:
Under the leadership of Muhammad Irfan Khan, the Pakistan Shaheens are all set to kick off their Top End T20 Series campaign on Thursday, 14 August. Their opening clash will be against Bangladesh ‘A’ at Darwin’s TIO Stadium in Australia.
The match will start at 7:00 pm local time (3:30 pm PKT). Cricket fans in Pakistan can catch the live action on A-Sports or via online streaming on ARY ZAP.
Since reaching Darwin on 10 August, the 15-member squad has participated in three intensive training sessions under the guidance of head coach Ghulam Ali and his coaching staff.
This year’s event will feature 11 teams and a total of 13 matches, played between 14 and 24 August across five venues in Darwin. The Shaheens were part of the first-ever T20 edition in 2023 under Rohail Nazir’s captaincy, where they reached the final but fell short against Northern Territory Strike by 46 runs. Last year, under Mohammad Haris, the team’s journey ended in the semi-finals after a 30-run defeat to Adelaide Strikers.
Speaking to PCB Digital on the eve of the tournament, skipper Muhammad Irfan Khan said:
“We are looking to enter the first match with the most balanced lineup possible. Bangladesh ‘A’ are a tough side, so it’s crucial to start strong.
